Delivering Truth

Multilingual Tutorial

This demo utilizes MultilingualPress plugin to facilitate multilingual capabilities in WordPress multisite network. You can choose to use different language for each site. Below are some of the crucial aspects that will walk you through the workflow of this plugin

  1. When creating a new site or editing an existing site within the network, you can control
    • Site language defines the language of the single site
    • Relationships allow you to connect the given site with other sites in the network
    • Redirections help you to navigate your users
  2. Once you have created 2 or more sites in the network, you can take full leverage of the multilingual features. To do this, try creating a new post/page in any of the sites. You will see translation meta boxes for each site which is in a relationship with this site.
    • Title
    • Option to copy content(same language as source) and featured image from source post
    • Manage site-specific relationship status for the concerned post/page
  3. You can manage translations manually or automatically. For automated translation, MultingualPress offers language APIs which can come in handy. Apart from this, there are several 3rd party translation service providers which can be of help.
  4. You can make use of language switcher widget and also add languages in default WordPress navigation menu.
  5. One of the unique feature available in MultilingualPress is one click-duplicate site. This is a great option because you can use one site as a template for new sites. You can copy everything: Posts, pages, settings for plugins, themes, navigation menus, categories, tags, custom taxonomies, and attachments.
